Which MPV?

I am looking to replace a 56-plate Mazda 6 Estate with something smaller now my twin daughters are 5 and no longer need a double buggy etc. I do short local journeys with occasional motorway run.

It needs to have good MPG, be fairly cheap to run and reliable. As I have a bad back I am looking for an MPV type car, ideally up to around £15k. Would consider a year old model if it has a long warranty.

I like the Toyota Verso S but understand the "S" refers to silver surfers and I am only 40! What would you recommend? Additionally my husband is 6ft 5" and will occasionally drive it. (He drives a Hyundai ix35) Many thanks.
