Why aren't SUVs suitable for tall people?
I am looking to purchase a mid-size 4x4 and have viewed a Hyundai Santa Fe, Nissan X-trail and Citroen C-Crosser.
However, I am 6'7" tall and am finding that all of these cars have a high driving position and rather limited seat height adjustment which means that I am typically looking at the sun visor rather than the windscreen.
My existing car is a VW Passat which provides plenty of seat height adjust but these 4x4's seem suited to average height people only! Is there anything that can be done to these models (eg aftermarket seat adjustments or replacements) that can be done so that I can buy one of these cars and still see where I am going or can you suggest an alternative affordable 4x4 with good seat height adjustment? Or should I just stick to standard estate cars?

For your height an MPV such as a C-Max or a Berlingo makes more sense. The higher a vehicle is off the ground then the lower the roof has to be to keep the centre of gravity down. That's why SUVs have less headroom then MPVs.
