New car paintwork problem
I bought my car new. Two defects in the paintwork have been found, Hyundai has agreed on a respray as necessary, so their obligations are properly met.
However, I raised the issue of inspection and quality control prior to delivery, with both the dealer and Hyundai itself. One of the defects is a clear difference in vehicle colour of the hatch lid.
On this I was surprised to be told by Hyundai, "As you will appreciate - when a vehicle is produced there are different types of materials used in this production. For example, the front and rear bumpers are made of a different material to the bonnet or the roof. Due to these different materials they will give different finish/appearance with the paintwork."
The fact that the bonnet and front bumper match perfectly seems to contradict this. Am I expecting too much for the colour tones on a new car to match all round?

The car probably failed end of line inspection because of a scratch and the hatch lid was repainted before the car was released from the factory.
