Stalling old BMW 525

My 1994 old BMW 525TD automatic has developed an intermittent fault. Occasionally, from rest, when it is put into drive the engine stalls (if it was a petrol engine I would have pulled the choke out to rectify).

This happens sometimes when the engine is cold and sometimes warm, it doesn’t seem to matter. Also, on one occasion, when running up to a roundabout, foot off the accelerator, the engine stopped but started again immediately on the started motor.

Well you may need to have a diagnostic check carried out which should then show up with a fault code.
If however you do not then you should check the following
1. APP ( accelerator pedal position ) sensor
2. APP switch ( if fitted)
3. Fuel quality adjuster
4. Fuel quality adjuster position sensor
