Buying a used convertable

I want to buy a neat convertible, have narrowed it down to Honda S2000 or Mercedes SLK, I can spend up to about 10k. Which do you think is the better option?

Do you want a sportscar or a two seater roadster? The S2000 is a high revving sports car, but no power at low revs. The SLK 200, 230, 280 or 320 are girlie roadsters. The only sporty ones are the 280 and 320 with a manual 6 speed box. But they do have the advantage of a folding hardtop. Avoid 19" rear wheels on an SLK because they not only break your back, they trip the SRS airback switch on potholes and speed humps.
