Poor self centering in the steering.

I've just bought a 2008 Honda Jazz 1.4 i-DSi SE with 22k miles. Very nice little car apart from the steering which is slightly heavy at higher speeds, and doesn't self center that well either.

When I returned it to the dealer they said there was nothing wrong, and this was the way the Jazz steering is due to it being electric rather than hydraulic. Is this true? My old '01 Fiesta that the Jazz replaced, and various Ford Transits/Mercedes buses that I drive for a living feel very different.

Is true. The later, current shape Jazz is much better due to different steering castor angles. You can hold it on line through a corner, whereas you can't with the original model Jazz.
