Excessive oil consumption

I have a 2009 Audi A5 2.0 S-Line. It has done 14,000 miles and I bought it second hand with 7000 miles on the clock. The car has been serviced in accordance with the schedule.
The oil consumption seems excessive, I need to put in 1 litre approx every 2000 miles. Is this normal? If not, what could I do differently? The car was bought by me through a registered Audi dealer.

Very common with Audis because they are filled with fully synthatic oil on the production line and sometimes don't wear their piston oil rings in properly.

But this is not bad enough for Audi to act. Audi allows an incredible 625 miles a litre as "normal", which is ridiculous, not true.
