We are interested in a new Golf Cabriolet S 1.2 and have an Astra Cabriolet 1.8i 16v 2Dr with leather seats to PE.

The Astra has about 50k on the clock and was registered in Oct 2002. It is in pretty good condition for its age and has FSH and MOT until end Nov 2011.

What do you think we should pay for the new car and what should we get in PE?

Is PE the best way to proceed or would you recommend another approach?

The Golf lists at £20,550. The Astra trade books at £1,700 at 50k miles. I don't think you'll be able to do a deal for less than £18,500 and they may want £19,000.
