19" wheels

I have seen you advise many times that people avoid some of the larger wheels that cars come with today.

I am looking at purchasing a new XC90 Executive, it comes with 19" as standard.
I went to the dealer today and he thought I was mad as I asked if I could downgrade to the 18" wheels based on what I have read by you in the paper.

He said this is one of the main features of the executive model and when I sell it people would be suspicious if it had different wheels.

The car will be used around town, some speed humps and generally poorest north London roads.

Depends what profile the tyres are on 19" wheels.

On some big 4WDs even 20" wheels have 50 or 55 profile tyres.

My advice is not to go below 50 profile on a 4WD.

On 18" wheels XC90s come on 235/60 R18 tyres.

on 19" wheels the tyres are 255/50 R19s.
