Negotiating a discount
What deals should I reasonably expect to get from a main dealer when buying a brand new car ? For example, % reduction off the asking price, accessories thrown in for free, free servicing deals, free tank of fuel etc?
I will be purchasing either a new BMW 1 series or Volvo V50, trading in my 2001 V40 and not using their finance.

Depends what you can negotiate. How good are you at that? Depends how desperate the dealer is. You will be in a much better negotiating position over a car he has in stock and has been unable to sell than for a new factory order.
