Firsr car for 17 year old boy.

Would a manual 1.0 Polo be a good choice and if so which spec would you recommend re insurance? Would want a good approx 4 year old and depending on price might consider new if there are reasonable discounts available. If I should be considering other makes please advise.

The Volkswagen Polo is an ideal choice for a first car, and to reduce insurance costs as much as possible we would suggest choosing a model with the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated engine rather than the 1.0-litre TSI unit as the former falls into group 1 or 2 regardless of trim level whereas the latter starts at group 8.
