Why do we have an MoT advisory for faded light clusters when they are brand new?
My 2004 VW Polo keeps getting MoT advisories for faded rear light clusters, my husband fitted two brand new clusters and again there was an advisory, this does not look good as we are trying to sell it. Why is the inspector failing brand new clusters?

Have you checked that it is the cluster and not a coloured bulb that is the issue here? Some cars use orange or red coloured bulbs inside clear clusters and these can fade inside. If not, and there is no issue with the light clusters themselves, I would take the car back to the MoT station to appeal the advisories and they can reissue the MoT certificate without them.
