Polishing new cars?

Do you subscribe to the generally accepted advice that you should not apply polish (not even wax) to a new car until it is 3 months old, to allow the paint to harden ?

Definitely not polish. Nothing wrong with a protection treatment like Autoglym extra gloss protection or dealer applied Autoglym Lifeshine.
