Can I lock my car if the battery is disconnected?

I will not be using my Honda CR-V hybrid for a month. In order reduce the chance of theft I would like to store the 12v battery in my secure garage (on a CTEK charger). Will I be able to centrally lock the car using the key manually? When replacing the battery, will it be recognised by the ECU or will I need to learn how to pair it?

No, you cannot lock a Honda CR-V Hybrid with the key after disconnecting the battery because most modern Honda models, including the CR-V, rely entirely on electronic locking mechanisms. If, as you mention, you have a secure garage why not just connect your CTEK charger to the battery and leave as such?
