An economical used car?

I currently own a 2005 2.0 TDCi Focus, I use the car for a 150 mile motorway speed round trip commute daily. I love the relaxing feel of putting the car in 6th and seeing the rev counter sit below 2000, however I need something that is much more economical (mine averages 50mpg) and that doesnt rev itself to bits at 70 mph for about 8-10k (used). The only car that comes up with a 6 speed and is reasonably lively in performance is a Mini, can this be true? Would love to know your thoughts.

FIAT 500 1.3 Multijet. About 60 - 65mpg on the motorway, decent ride from 2010MY and excellent seats.
