2010 model or 2010 registered?
I bought a car from an Official Audi Dealer with a 2010 10 reg. I was told it was their own demonstrator which they registered in Apri 2010. During negotiation the car was described as a 2010 car. On taking delivery and arriving home I discovered that the car had its Delivery Inspection done by another Audi Dealer in Jan 09 and did not have the vehicle data sticker attached to it. I immediately contacted them but was assured by the sales person that it was a 2010 car and there might have been a mix up with the service book as it had a second owner which I was aware of.
I contacted the other dealer who confirmed that they did carried out the work. When confronted with this they told me that it was a 2010 car as it was registered in 2010. I feel they have misrepresented the car to me as I would not have bought the car if all the facts were disclosed to me. I requested that they take the car back and cancel the contract but they refuse. The car is financed by Audi Finance.
My question is can a car delivered in Jan 09 and manufactured in 9/08 be sold as a 2010 without disclosing the facts? Audi approved used cars boast a vehicle provenance check. As a consumer I expected honesty from a official dealer. What are my rights in this matter?

If they told you the car was "a 2010 model", they were lying and they have to refund your money. If they merely told you it was "2010 registered", then no case to answer. Quite a lot of cars sit around for a year or two before they are first registered.
