BMW battery bother
I have water leaking into the battery compartment of a 2006 BMW 525D. This caused a breakdown and major electrical problems which will cost me about £1,000.
BMW have not identified the cause of the leak but they are suggesting it is due to a minor accident repair to the bumper carried out in March this year. I'm not convinced this would be the cause - are there any known problems with water leaking into the offside rear battery compartment on this model?

BMW will be correct. Behind the sides of the rear bumpers are the cabin ventilation one way outlet flaps. If these get damaged then the trunk will suffer water ingress through them.
