More owners than stated
I recently purchased a used car from a trader, the advert stated that the car only had one owner, however when I got my V5 I realised that it had 3 previous owners. I would never have purchased the car if I would have known that.
I told them I am rejecting the sale, however they are not having it and will not reject it, their solicitors wrote to me saying that they maintain that it was clearly explained to me that the car had 3 owners, which is a lie!
I have a copy of the advert to prove the 1 owner statement, I want to take them to court but my problem is that its a time cunsuming proccess and I am out of £6,100, I cannot legally use the car as I rejected it and I cannot buy another one as my money is tied into this one!
What can I do?
I was thinking of selling the car and suing them for the difference but someone told me that if I sell it it is as if I have accepted the sale and it wont stand up in court!

£6,100 means fighting the dealer in a full county court that could cost you £15,000 in legal fees and court costs. Not worth it. 3 previous owners does not make any difference to the value of the car anyway.
