What car for £15k?
I am looking to change my car in the next month or so.
I have one child of 2yrs and looking to add another to the brood. I currently have a BMW 320d Saloon, but I find the boot space is restrictive in access and not nearly big enough for a holiday. I end up having to use some of the back of the car as well.
I have been looking at an Skoda Octavia Estate as an alternative. The road tax at £30/yr seems attractive, the economy seems to be very good, and the drive - although not as powerful as the BMW - is rather pleasant and comfortable.
I only do around 8k miles per year and in that only half a dozen or so long journeys. Most of my driving is 'local'.
I had been told that petrol would work out more financially beneficial due to the low mileage I do but I have no idea if this is true.
I have 15k to spend and want a car with cruise control, ISO Fix and parking sensors.
What can you suggest?

Better an Octavia 1.2TSI 105 or 1.4TSI 122 than a diesel for motoring that is predominantly short runs from cold starts.
