Changing tyre sizes
Our Jag has low profile tyres (225/40 ZR18 (92Y) Pirellis) on alloys. We have had all sorts of problems, tyre splits/rips/puntures on bad road surfaces, plus a very hard/firm ride.
I would like to change to 'normal' tyres for a better ride/less problems.
Can I fit different tyres (not low profile) onto these alloys or do I need new wheels (what sort/size) and then what size tyre should I buy?
Will this constitute 'modified' on the insurance?

No you have to change the wheels so a smaller size: 17s or 16s, then buy a set of deeper profile tyres to match the rolling circumference of the originals.
