Preventing bumper theft
I've recently deen the victim of a very nasty crime where the front bumper/skirt on my BMW was stolen (on the same night my nebighours car was broken into and one was stolen from down the road). I'm sure they would have had the back too if it had been accessible.
How can I mark these parts without devalueing them but making them useless to thieves?

If you mark them and the mark cannot be seen then they won't know not to steal them. If you've got a tricked up car and street park then bits are going to get stolen. So don't trick up a street parked car, or get a garage to lock it away in.
