Worn brakes
My car is 13-months-old and has done 11,000 miles. I noticed what I thought to be excessive scoring on the nearside rear brake discs and to a lesser extent on the offside. I took it in to the dealer to be told that everything was ok and that braking efficiency was satisfactory. They could not explain why this had occurred and made no mention of it when the car was serviced a month or so ago.
I subsequently contacted Vauxhall who were non committal and simply repeated what the dealer had said.
I am concerned that this could be a manufacturing defect and is unlikely to be due to normal wear and tear. Should I be concerned?

Normally caused by surface rusting if the car has been left outside for several weeks at a time in the winter.
