Faulty fuelling

I have a 54-plate 2.0-litre petrol Mondeo.

After about five miles the car dies out like I have run out of fuel. I changed the fuel pump and filter as the AA told me that was the fault, but it's still doing it.

Which fuel pump? There are two. The injection pump and the fuel tank lifter pump. But before replacing the fuel tank lifter pump, check its earth, its relay and the earth to its relay.
