What small self-charging hybrid has low insurance?

At 88 years old I find that the insurance cost for my Dacia Jogger is prohibitive. I am prepared to downsize. Which small self charging car (petrol/electric) is likely to give the lowest annual insurance cost. I only drive under 3000 miles per annum, mainly 'locally' so the insurance cost is the most important factor; above specification or performance.

We would suggest looking at cars such as the Toyota Yaris and Yaris Cross, or the Honda Jazz, all of which are available as a hybrid and typically have low insurance costs.

I'm looking to buy a new, medium-sized petrol hybrid for under £30,000. I've tried a Toyota Corolla and the new Honda Civic, both are good. Are there any other cars I should consider before making a decision?
Is a self-charging hybrid as efficient, economical and 'green' as a plug-in hybrid (PHEV)? Can you recommend any 'self-charging' hybrids as I note that you give a good review to the Subaru XV e-Boxer?
