MOT rip off

Seduced by the promise of half price MOTs on Halfords website, my daughter took her 2003 Fiat Punto for the test. It failed and she was told it would need £600 of work, but she was eligible for a discount of £200.

Suspicious, as the vehicle had given her no trouble whatsover, she declined, paid for the failed cetificate and took the car straight to a local garage where they said it needed just two new tyres, fitted them while she waited and passed it without any problem.

Never believe a half price MoT, which would mean that the centre was losing money on it. Nothing is for nothing.
