Buying a new family saloon
I'm not a car buff and have had Fords for the last 30 years. I've had Mondeos for the last 18 years.
Very, very happy with them and there's local servicing etc, but my family think another Mondeo would be too boring.
I've just turned 61 so I don't actually need a large car for kids etc but the wife and I do not want a small one either.
I could justify spending £30K or so.
Owning a Jaguar has been a dream since boyhood. With the cost of petrol etc would going for something high spec but mid size (eg Focus etc.) be better all round?
Problem between heart and mind! I prefer manual and petrol over automatic and diesel. Sorry that the "question" is a bit vague. What do you think?

£30k just about gets you into a new Jaguar XF 3.0 V6 petrol, but they are all automatic.
