Scratched glass on new car
I took delivery of my new car from the local dealership on 4th April, a dull but dry afternoon, having performed checks of the Gard-EXed paintwork condition, interior cleanliness, spare wheel in place, etc.
Tuesday, 5th April, was dull and wet, but on Wednesday, 6th April, as I approached my car, parked in the sunshine on my drive beside my house, I noticed numerous small scratches (looked to have been caused by a rotating, polishing action) on the side windows.
My wife and I immediately took the car back to the Dealership, where I requested the salesperson that I had dealt with to inspect the car on the forecourt.
Having found nothing untoward, I pointed out the scratches, which on further inspection, were found on nearly all the windows, some of which could be felt with fingernails. Attempts were made to take Digital photos in the sunshine to forward to the manufacturer for assessment. Can you please advise me what action I should be taking as I believe that this is a matter for the dealership to resolve?

Definitely. The car is 'not of satisfactory quality' and a private purchaser could not reasonably be expected to have anticipated that the glass would be scratched and to have checked for. I guess the car was covered with protective plastic and some idiot removed it with a metal wallpaper scraper. The garage has to replace all the glass or take the car back and refund your money. If it does replace all the glass, then you need to check very carefully for leaks through the seals afterwards.
