Parking fine issued incorrectly

We come from Cornwall. In february we went to Kent for my aunts funeral.

My mother drove to Strood and parked in Netto car park. For ten minutes she went into the Wilkinsons shop, bought something, and then went.

She was no longer then 30 minutes in the car park. It's a two-hour free carpark. I then drove the car in the afternoon. I parked in the same car park and I was about 30 minutes. When I got home I had a letter from the car park company saying I got a £60 fine for parking at 8.58am and leaving the carpark at 15:58pm.

I contacted them and was told to send proof of reciepts for where I was that day and I sent them what they needed, but they still say I have to pay.

They showed a photo of my reg going in to the car park and then going out but you can't see the reg on way out. I've told them to look again and they will see my wife drive in the morning and leave then me driving in later in the day.

During the time they are saying I was parked in car park I needed my car and drove it to the hospice and into Chatham, where I proved by receipts that I was shopping and they still want more.

My argument is for them to look at the whole day in question and they will see my car entering twice and leaving twice. The hospice will write a letter saying I was there the day in question what time and that I had my car.

Basically, unless there is a rule about no returning to the carpark the same day you can tell them to get stuffed, outright refuse to pay the penalty, and if they dispute this invite them to sue you for it via your local county court. That's your local county court, not theirs.
