Satellite Navigation problems
Following your advice on BMW sat nav that does not accept full postcode, this is the response I received from BMW
"Satellite Navigation systems have been fitted to our product and many other products without the full 7 digit postcode ability for over 10 years and have been used without any cause for complaint. The vehicle can search via either a town or partial postcode and then the street name. This means that you need the full address, you cannot rely on just the postcode and house number to direct you to a specific address it in no way means it is unfit for the purpose of navigation" No refund or free upgrade. Any further advice appreciated.

The complaint is against Mercedes Command systems on W212s and W221s that are capable of being programmed with 7 digit postcodes for UK destined production but sometimes aren't. However, if you buy a new car you can still argue that if for £200 you can buy a Tom Tom or Garmin that takes UK postcodes, why does the £2,000 system fitted to your BMW not take it? Take the case to the small claims track of a county court and there's a good chance that you can get the cost of the satnav refunded and still keep the satnav.
