Buying a used car

I am looking to buy a used Citroen C4, ideally no more than five years old, a diesel, and within a budget of £6500.

I have found a 1.6 diesel C4 Cachet, 2008 reg, with 22,000 on the clock. The asking price is £7700 and the dealer has said they will go no lower than £7400. There are other C4's available that are a couple of years older, and have around 50k on the clock rather than 20k, that fall within my budget.

Is it worth paying the extra £1000 for a C4 that is two years younger and has half the mileage?

More importantly, am I getting a good deal on the one listed for £7400?

I don't know what a C4 Cachet is based on, nor its power output, nor whether its a 3 door or 5 door so can't value it. But an 08 C4 1.6HDI Cool retailed for £8,400 in March.
