What do I need for driving in France and Spain?

We're driving through France & Spain in July. Apart from the obvious, passport, driving licence, insurance etc, what will we need for driving in France then into Spain since Brexit?

Regardless of which country in Europe you are driving in, it is recommended to take your driving licence, proof of insurance, your national insurance number, proof of ID such as your passport, travel insurance documents, European breakdown cover documents, V5/C registration document and evidence of valid MoT and vehicle tax.

In terms of equipment to carry, you will need a high-vis jacket for every passenger and the driver, a warning triangle, headlamp beam deflectors, a UK car sticker even if you do not have a GB Euro numberplate (as this is a requirement in Spain) and a first aid kit.

In certain areas of France you will require a Crit' Air sticker - you can find the specific requirements here: www.france.fr/en/holiday-prep/crit-air-anti-pollut...r. You may also require snow chains if driving in designated snow zones.
