Buying a long car..not too long.

I am thinking of buying a used car. I want a somewhat long car.

My budget is £5000. I would prefer a manual though automatic would be a last resort.

Based on information from friends/neighbours etc. I have shortlisted 4 cars;
Ford Mondeo, Vauxhall Astra, SAAB 93/95, Volkswagen Bora.

Which of the above cars do you think I should try to buy?

Which car would you recommend, and should it be a diesel or petrol?

If I buy the car suggested by you, what mileage and how old (year) can I expect with my budget?

If you want a long car then you need to look at a Skoda Superb. That offers the best car in length in the D Sector. Diesels now suffer from a lot of expensive mechanical problems that can make them more expensive to run than petrol engined cars. You should get an 05 Skoda Superb 2.0i petrol for your budget.
