Are clutch pedal extensions safe?

My wife who is 5ft tall has recently purchased a Mini Cooper with a manual gearbox. Although she has the driver’s seat as far forward as possible she is finding it difficult to operate the clutch pedal. She can operate the brake and accelerator without any problems. Would a clutch pedal extension be a suitable solution?

Pedal extensions are a simple way to adjust the position of the pedals to make them more comfortable for drivers who struggle to find an adequate driving position. We would suggest trying mobility specialists who provide purpose-made components for this purposes, such as these from Des Gosling Mobility: www.desgoslingmobilityltd.co.uk/products/driving-c.../
