My personal plate on retention seems to have disappeared, what can I do?

I’ve had a couple of plates on retention for many years. I have moved house since I got a certificate for retention. I recently tried to re activate them and they say there’s no record of them. What can I do next?

You do not mention how many years you have had the plates on retention, but since December 2019 any private plate that has been held on retention for 10 years without being used or a reapplication for retention not made are deleted from the system, and cannot be used by anyone, so unfortunately this may have happened in this situation.
