VW Bora needs repairs

I have a 2000-reg Bora with 149,000 miles on the clock, and its MOT is due at the end of month

It requires a replacement 2nd gear selector fork. Garage has looked at the clutch and flywheel and have reported back it has a couple of 'hot spots' (not sure what these are), however they have left it up to me whether to have the clutch and flywheel done.

Before the gearbox failed the clutch worked and fine and the flywheel was also OK. I am tempted to just have the gearbox repaired and to leave the clutch and flywheel as they are for the time being, as this would save me £900 off a £1500 bill.

I would appreciate receiving your advice on the above, along with your further advice as to the type of clutch and flywheel that could be fitted, in view of the fact that the car puts out 154bhp and 400NM of torque. The car is driven in a relaxed fashion most of time. Should I be thinking of moving the car on? For your information the car has been in our family for 6 years, engine and body work is in good condition, and I would have a budget of £2000 + trade in price of Bora to put towards another car.

If it has a dual mass flywheel then this will almost inevitably fail very soon so it's daft to have to go to the expense of dismantling and separating engine and transmission once again to fit a new DMF and clutch. Have it done at the same time.
