When should glow plugs need changing?

I have a 2016 Skoda Superb 1.6 TDI with 44,000 miles on the clock. It appears that all my glo plugs need replacing - is this unusual? How much should this cost?

The glow plugs should only be changed if there is a sign of a problem (difficulty starting, misfire, warning light, poor engine idle).

Costs will be between £150 and £250. Labour costs will increase if one of the plugs break (as they are then very difficult to remove). That's why it's important for the job to be completed by a trusted garage.
