How do I get my vehicle into the 'historic tax class'?

I have a Land Rover that is approaching its 40th year. Please can you let me know how to get it classed as 'historic'?

To get your Land Rover classed as 'historic' you will need to apply for a vehicle tax exemption. You can do this at a Post Office that deals with car tax. You will need the logbook (V5C), a V112 form filled out that states the car's MoT exemption and proof of a valid insurance policy.
