Disabled - needs high seat for easy access

I'm an elderly driver with bad arthritis knees and need a high driver's seat for ease of access and decent leg room.

Must be automatic, with petrol engine, budget up to £8,000 - £10,000 for car up to three years old. Will be used almost always for short rural journeys of up to 20 miles, and since annual mileage low the fuel consumption doesn't matter much.

Which cars would you recommend?
