New company car

I'm about to order a new company car. We are re-imbursed for petrol on a sliding scale, so >2 litres gives 30% extra per mile. I object to the Mondeo and S-MAX 2.2 engines only being a £5K option as you have to go to the Titanium X Sport to get the engine, so I was thinking of a Mazda 6. I've seen a lot on the forums (not just yours) suggesting many issues with oxygen sensors failing after 900 miles and 3 week repair times - not practical as I do >30K miles per year. Have Mazda fixed this issue ? It's a lovely car. I could go to my limit on the lease and get a facelifted C-Class but the Mazda does everything I need.

I don't have the feedback on the Mazda 6 that you have seen.

And not sure why you are so power hungry for the Ford 2.2. If you do 30k a year on motorways restricted to 70mph, why do you need a 140mph car? Better fuel economy and a more relaxed drive and lower BIK from the lower power engine. If it's a company car you don't have to worry about timing belts. Or go for the BMW 320d Efficient Dynamics.
