Some months ago you answered a readers enquiry about a car that was comfortable for sleeping in whilst touring but cheaper to run then a conventional type camper van. At the time I didn't need the information so didn't make a note but now want to do just that, tour without the expense of hotel bills in France.

The previous model 2001 - 2006 Honda Civic 5-door. The seatbacks can be reclined so they align with the rear squabs. But beware sleeping at the roadside in a car after the Michelin stars because you can still get done for drunk in charge of a motor vehicle, even in France.
