Why won't my Ford Focus retractable tow bar lock in place?
Why does my tow bar not lock into place? A buzzer sounds constantly, too.,

Might be a problem with the control module or an issue with the solenoid.
From memory, the tow bar was advertised as 'maintenance free'. But its location under the rear of the car will inevitably cause it to collect a lot of road dirt. This may cause issues with the solenoid.
