Are bigger wheels best for car comfort?

I have severe and chronic back pain. Road conditions these days are generally not very good, especially with speed humps, potholes and even driving over a drain in the road you can often feel a big bump.

I currently own a 2018 Citroen C3 Aircross but don't know if I should be looking at cars with big wheels, or cars with smaller wheels. I mainly drive around town and seldom drive on motorways. Can you offer any advice?

Big wheels usually use lower-profile tyres which can't absorb road impacts and therefore transfer a lot of vibration into the cabin. That's why you should avoid cars on 19-inch or 20-inch wheels if road comfort is a key car buying consideration.

If you are looking for a compact and comfortable car, I'd recommend the Toyota C-HR 1.8 petrol hybrid on 17-inch wheels.
