Regarding speed camera locators, I was bought a Novus GPS Rider for my birthday. This is advertised at about £95 and comes with free updates for life and a three-year guarantee. The unit, which is very small, works right out of the box and has an inbuilt 8-hour battery or can be run or recharged from the cigarette lighter socket. It is updated simply by connecting it via a computer USB port to the Novus web site. It has a facility to note new camera sites so the makers can be advised and thus include them in the next update. The voice warnings are extremely clear despite the diminutive size of the unit, and these warnings are complemented by coloured light warnings. When the car is moving the unit displays the accurate speed over the ground (showing my BMW speedometer to be about 3 mph fast) and the time of day when the car is stopped. It announces every type of camera, including the average speed type on motorways and traffic light cameras plus known accident black spots. All in all I think this is by far the best unit I have seen, especially considering all of the facilities it has for the price and of course the free lifetime updates.
