I'd like to see at least 6 months of testing before recommending the car. That said, I did run a Focus ECOnetic for 14 months, did average 55mpg over 8,000 miles (and did regularly regenerate the DPF because the gearing meant I was running at over 2,000rpm most of the time). I strongly doubt that the BMW will do better in mixed use.
