Total recall
Been looking for advice on faulty EPS light for my Meriva and got a link to your page - also read the Vauxhall owners forum. I guess you are maybe wanting to collate these as you have asked for feedback on it? My Meriva is 2005 1.4i 16v Twinport Design model. EPS light comes on, steering becomes extremely heavy - same symptoms as many other owners. Was bought from 1st owner (private sale) with only 25000 on the clock. Called RAC out once - engine was switched off while waiting for them to arrive, then could not replicate fault. Took to my local good and friendly garage - couldn't replicate fault. Have had poor service from local Vauxhall dealership when I was looking to buy one of these so I assume their customer service when dealing with this will be even worse. I assumed this fault was possibly due to it being an electrical power steering system that could suffer from shorting out after heavy rain, but it does it even during a dry spell. Having now read the forum - it seems to be an inherent fault that Vauxhall know about and are doing bugger all about. Just wanted to add my experience to the log - the more faults we log with Vauxhall the more chance of a recall.

Many thanks. I'm urging everyone experiencing this fault to report it to
www.vosa.gov.uk and then if they are overwhelmed with the same
complaint they might get off whatever they are on and order a vehicle
safety recall. This is such a big issue involving so many people that Watchdog might take it up.
