The in be teenagers

I'm tall (6'6") and have three teenage sons who are going same way. Our current cars (SAAB 95 and Vauxhall Zafira) are reaching the point where we can't get my wife and I and three boys in without contortions in the back seat and fights over who goes in middle etc. Of the two, the Zafira has more space, but is not so good for longer journeys. Things compounded by fact that I need one of front seats near back of its adjustable range due to my long legs - the SAAB especially has very little rear space behind seat when this is done. Wonder if you have any suggestions on what cars might work as a replacement. I can't find any sensible way to get information from listings about rear seating space (i.e. legroom and width). My wife objects to the idea either of a people carrier (e.g. Galaxy type thing) or Range Rover type thing. But beyond that we're not particularly constrained. My wife and I quite like driving cars that are good to drive - so decent performance and handling would be a bonus. Ideally three proper seat belts in rear too. As for budget, we are fairly flexible, but probably would prefer a two or more year old car to a new one - get the initial depreciation out of the way etc.

A Skoda Superb has limo-like legroom. The current Ford Mondeo is very good. Otherwise, move up to an MPV. The Ford S-Max is the most carlike and has three separate and separately adjustable centre row seats. The new Renault Scenic and Grand Scenic have really nice interiors, separately adjustable centre seats and an excellent 1.4TCe 130 turbo petrol engine. The new Peugeot 3008 is good too, especially with the 1.6 THP 150 petrol and 2.0 HDI 150 diesel engines.
