Phony ware
I have just bought a VW Golf Mk VI. It would appear that VW has failed to provide an up to date phone prep kit that can sync with modern mobiles. The Skoda phone prep kit in my previous Octavia can cope with a wider range of mobiles including Blackberries. The lack of any relevant or useful response from VW in Germany and their apparent lack of interest in their clients' problems is I suspect that they know that there is a problem with these so called "Premium Bluetooth" kits. A specialist can remove the problems that I have with my car kit by fitting a Skoda kit that is more up to date, so why does VW not fit this kit to their new cars. Compatibility seems to be limited to these museum-piece Nokias: N82, N78, 8800, 6500s, 6500c, 6300, 5310XM, 3110c, 3109c.

I have just had this problem myself. After a Nokia 6267 on Vodafone paired up brilliantly with the Blue & Me in my FIAT 500 I have found that a Nokia 5800 on Orange will not. I can hook it up temporarily before each journey to receive calls, but it will not transfer the contacts data, so I can't make calls and will not automatically hook up when I get into the car. Car technology always lags behind phone technology, but FIAT says there will probably be a Blue & Me software upload for the 5800 within a few months and the same will probably be true of VW and your phone.
