Range over

If you were going to trade in a Range Rover Sport for a 7-seat SUV or estate (I now have 3 children under 4 and the RR is a bit of a squeeze), would you recommend a Volvo XC90 / Land Rover Discovery or what diesel estate cars do you recommend?

A Discovery has more room, but wait for the much better 3.0 litre diesel Disco 4 coming in the autumn, from £34,495. Or go for a used Mercedes GL 320CDI. There aren't any 7-seat estates any more apart from the Peugeot 308 SW and the Dacia Logan MCV not sold in the UK. The most sporty 7 seat MPV is a Ford S-Max, best with the 2.2 diesel engine.
