Points taken

I think I have now seen it all – a recruitment ad in the Slough Observer for Traffic Officers who "have held a full UK driving licence for at least 2 years with no more than 3 penalty points". It seems that the draconian system of fines and penalty points in UK means that it is no longer possible to recruit Traffic Officers with clean licences. The logical conclusion? Soon the roads will be empty as everyone will have 12 points (thereby solving our congestion problems) with the exception of those who continue to drive without Road Tax, MOTs or insurance.
