Moving story

Our current family car is an Audi A3 Sportback. As we recently moved house this has provided good service for lugging various parcels around and also taking rubbish away but could have been a bit larger. We are thinking of replacing it with an MPV. It must have an automatic gearbox and one of the main considerations is rear seat comfort for our adult sized teenager on our regular long journeys to visit family. I tested a C4 Picasso and found it wallowed on bends and the electrically shifted gearbox was awful. A Zafira or similar seems a good choice. What would you suggest?
